After graduation, students will be awarded the National Vocational Certificate (NVC). Those students who extended to three years will be awarded Higher National Diploma (HND).
Computer Studies / Information Technologies
National Vocational Certificate in COMPUTER STUDIES
Goal: The Vocational Computer Studies Certificate is designed to produce enterprising and self-reliant personnel
in computer operations.
Objectives:
A product of NVC in Computer Science should be able to:
- Understand the computer environment and posses skills needed to use common software packages in a very competent manner in the business and industrial sector.
- Operate and maintain basic Operating Systems
- Install and run common software
- Input and retrieve data from databases
- Detect minor technical faults in a Computer
- Carry out routine (preventive) maintenance of Computer facilities.
- Start and manage a small computer-based business
Entry Qualifications
- Nine years of basic education (3 years of Junior Secondary and school leaving certificate) is the minimum
requirement for entry Or
- Special consideration may be given to sponsored candidates with lower academic qualification Or
- Candidates (matured) who are computer literate have good aptitude capable of benefiting from the
programme.
Plumbing and Fitting:
PROGRAMME: NATIONAL VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN PLUMBING AND PIPE FITTING
COURSE: WORKSHOP SAFETY
COURSE CODE: CHT 101

GOAL: This module is designed to provide the trainees with relevant workshop safety as it relates to the plumbing profession
GENERAL OBJECTIVES: On completion of this module trainees should be able to:
1.0 Understand the role that safety plays in the construction industry
2.0 Understand the necessary safety procedures
3.0 Understand how unsafe acts and conditions causes accident and ways of handling them on site
4.0 Understand the use of fire fighting equipment
5.0 Understand the application of first aid.
Fabrication and Welding
GOAL:
This programme is designed to produce skilled craftsmen with good knowledge of the application of the equipment,materials, techniques and safety practices in Fabrication and Welding of metal projects.
OBJECTIVES:
On completion of the programme, the student should be able to:
(1) Carry out gas welding and cutting jobs on all types of metals.
(2) Produce simple finished structural steel work projects with safety, using relevant equipment and techniques.
(3) Apply protective wetting against corrosion on finished metal projects.
(4) Market finished metal projects.

Electrical Installation and Repair
NATIONAL VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN ELECTRICAL
INSTALLATION AND REPAIR WORK
1.0 Programme Nomenclature
National Vocational Certificate in Electrical Installation and Repair Work.
Goal: The goal of the NVC in Electrical Installation and Repair
work is to Produce Competent hands with job knowledge and
practical skills for a successful career in electrical installation
and repair work.
Objectives: On completion of course, a graduate of NVC in
Electrical installation and Repair works should be able to:
(i) To carry out with expertise domestic and industrial
electrical installation works.
(ii) Detect and repair faults in domestic/industrial appliances.
(iii) Carry out the various tests on new and existing electrical
installation.
(iv) Install and rewind electrical machines and other portable
electrical devices.
(v) Interpret electrical working drawings and manuals. 2.0 Entry requirements for National Vocational Certificate in Electrical

The general entry requirements for the NVC programme are:
(i) Basic Education products (Post-JSS) students with requisite credits in Junior School Certificate (JSC) or NECO
(ii) Post-Secondary students who are unable to gain access to higher education or IEIs, who may have less than 5 credits
Motor Vehicle Mechanics
National Vocational Certificate in MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS
1.0 GOAL:
This programme is designed to produce skilled craftsmen with good knowledge of the working principles of motor
vehicle and the techniques and safety practices involve in its maintenance.
2.0 OBJECTIVES:
On completion of the programme, a graduate of NVC in motor vehicle mechanics should be able to:
(2.1) Identify various tools/equipment used in the repair of motor vehicle.
(2.2) Identify the various units and component parts that make up a motor vehicle.
(2.3) Dismantle and assemble parts with expertise
(2.4) Carry out diagnostics by aural, visual and functional methods.
(2.5) To carry out with expertise, repairs or replacement of faulty components.
(2.6) To identify and procurement of genuine spare parts.
(2.7) Carry out routine vehicle checks and basic scheduled servicing as recommended by the manufacturer.
(2.8) To carry out performance test as applicable
3.0 ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
(a.) Basic Education requirement (Post JSS) – i.e. candidate with requisite credits in Junior Secondary Certificate (JSC)
(b.) Post –Secondary students who are unable to gain access to higher education or IEIs, who may have less than the required five (5) credits.

Cosmetology and Beauty Therapy
NATIONAL VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN COSMETOLOGY AND BEAUTY THERAPY
GOAL: The National Vocational Certificate in Cosmetology and Beauty Therapy is designed to equip students with basic skills and knowledge necessary for a successful carrier in the Salon and Beauty Industry.
OBJECTIVE:
A certificate holder of this programme should be able to:
- Have a clear focus on the main aspects of modern Cosmetology carrier,
Carry out a range of cosmetology and beauty therapy techniques,
Carry out beauty therapy based on the understanding of human anatomy and physiology, - Analyse and demonstrate a range of interpersonal skills required within the profession
- Market the products and services of a beauty salon,
- Set up and manage a beauty Salon.
ENTRY QUALIFICATION:
The general entry requirements into the National Vocational Certificate in cosmetology and beauty therapy
programme are:
· Post basic Education Certificate (Post JSS).
· Unemployed or under-employed graduates looking for requisite employable skills.
Furniture Making and Upholstery
National Vocational Certificate in Furniture Making and Upholstery
GOAL
Produce competent hands with good knowledge and practical skills for a successful career in furniture making and
upholstery.
OBJECTIVES
A product of NVC in Furniture making and upholstery should be able to:
a) Understand the general and specific techniques in Furniture making and upholstery
b) Construct and erect different types of furniture
c) Draw and interpret constructional drawings relative to Furniture making
d) Apply portable hand and machine tools to process wood, wood products and metal in furniture making
e) Work as a skilled furniture maker, either in Self-employment or in paid employment.
