Transforming Minds. Developing Okigwe.

EZWON’S goal is to create relevant learning opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom that help them develop the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and character necessary to succeed in a technologically advanced world.

A Letter from Father Okoli

I firmly believe that people can improve their lives if given the opportunity to transform themselves.  For quite some time, I have been passionate about changing the lives of disadvantaged youths in Nigeria that have limited resources available to them.

Growing up as a multitalented teenager, I believed I could become anything if given the opportunity and direction. The two significant institutions at the time were the Imo State University (now Abia State University) and St. Peter’s Minor Seminary. With persuasion from my parents, I chose the latter, and the journey continues to what I am today, a priest. Later in life, and with opportunities abroad, my other talents became a reality: being an Auto Technician, Mental Health Therapist, and US Naval Officer.  This experience has inspired me to provide basic educational resources to talented Nigerian youths to help them achieve their life ambitions.

EZWON, in affiliation with EZWON HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION and local communities, will focus on computer application classes, medical technicians and nurses, elementary and secondary school teachers training, training mechanics for the repairs and services, and many others in our curriculum. Okigwe currently does not have adequate higher institutions, such as colleges or universities, to meet the growing population in the area.

In addition, EZWON is dedicated to empowering youths through practical learning, formal education, self-employment, job creation, and access to modern-day technological resources and implicitly contributing to families living out of poverty. My mission has received support from people such as Mr. Paul Steinke, a retired CPE supervisor, who has motivated me immensely. Also, Ari Dodoh, a financial advisor and business consultant, has sacrificed her time to help realize this goal.

EZWON will strive to prepare all students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens ready to meet future challenges.

Sad to say that after the exit of colonial masters who built railways and roads connecting the North from the South, Okigwe became a forgotten zone both by the State and Federal Governments.

There is no government influence in Okigwe, no electricity supply, good roads, and pipe-borne water. Okigwe community strives to live above poverty, circumvented by little money flow.

There are many talented young men and women in Okigwe who longs for support and empowerment, which Ezwon institute is poised to bring with the help of the church and the community.

Ezwon Institute, in affiliation with Ezwon College of Technology and local communities, will focus on training mechanics for the repairs and services of vehicles and help them solicit modern machine tools and spare parts.

With the current situation in Nigeria, the lack of jobs is increasing in Okigwe.

Ezwon is focused on youths’ empowerment through practical learning, formal education, self-employment, job creation, and access to modern-day technological resources and implicitly contributing to families living out of poverty.

Impacting the lives of youths positively in Okigwe through practical learning has received the support of some people with whom I have worked closely. Mr. Paul Steinke, a retired CPE supervisor, has motivated me immensely. Arih Dodo, a financial expert/advisor, has sacrificed her time to see that this vision is a reality.
EZWON will strive to prepare all students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens ready to meet future challenges. Ezwon will provide training, workshops, and information sessions to young individuals to enhance their talents, build vital skills, and inspire them to succeed through educational, scientific, civic, and charitable activities.

As a public charitable organization, EZWON will provide young adults with a safe environment where they can interact with each other, pursue their dreams through education, and learn essential life lessons. We intend to offer educational, technical, and training opportunities to enable the upliftment of underprivileged men and women in Nigeria, starting with Okigwe. Okigwe does not have adequate higher institutions, such as colleges or universities, to meet the growing population in the area. There are only secondary schools within proximity of the educational center.

Ezwon’s mission is to provide the means to alleviate poverty within its geographic location.

These characteristics are central to EZWON’s mission. Activities such as automobile training and repair, use and application of modern technology in automobiles, computer application classes, medical technician and nurses, elementary and secondary school teachers training, and many others are in our curriculum.

In partnership with families and the community, EZWON’S goal is to create relevant learning opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom that help them develop the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and character necessary to succeed in a technologically advanced world.
